Knight Inlet Lodge asks all guests to fill out comment cards while they are at the lodge viewing  grizzlies. We thought you might like to hear some of the things they had to say about their stay. These comments are all from the first couple of weeks in August 2011.

"Wonderful experience, do not change a thing!"

" The food is fabulous. A brilliant trip start to finish"

"The best apple pie ever. All the food was delicious."

"Terrific trip, well organized, the guides were great"

"Excellent- sorry to be leaving, very keen to return"

Glendale grizzly bear research update

Posted by:thelodge

The research project in Glendale Cove that Mel Clapham is running has captured photos of a new grizzly male. Mel has been able to identify him as a returning male from a couple of years ago since he has a distinctive piece of his nose missing. Nicknamed Diablo by our staff the first time he appeared it will be interesting to see how long he stays in our area. The photos in this blog are of another of our grizzly males with the rather fancy nickname of Pretty Boy. The photos are from one of Mel's research cameras, we appreciate her sharing them with us.

What a wonderful experience!!

Our visit to Knight Inlet Lodge was the 2 days of our Canadian holiday we were most looking forward to & it did not disappoint.

From the moment we were met at Campbell River airport by Harold, the Knight Inlet Lodge shuttle driver everything was perfect.    The information Harold shared on what lay ahead only magnified our excitement level.

Knight Inlet Lodge, our fisheries work

Posted by:thelodge

Knight Inlet Lodge is actively working to improve the salmon stocks on the Glendale River. One project towards this end is the fry monitoring program that we operate from late February until early May. The purpose of this project is to count pink salmon fry as they move down the river towards the ocean. We accomplish this by positioning a RST (rotary screw trap) in the river.  This system allows us to catch a portion of the escaping fry without harming them in any way.

Knight Inlet Lodge, another happy guest blog about the 2010 season

Posted by:thelodge

Me and my six months pregnant wife spent 3 days  at the Lodge. Every part of the trip was great. The seaplane flight was amazing (like in the movies). Very friendly and relaxing atmosphere in a secluded location. The organised activities were excellent and most were suitable to any fitness level. Food ..... oh my God!!! Michelin star. You can´t get seafood much fresher. Still missing those Dungeness Crabs and the prawns. Knowledge of the local area and wildlife was excellent. We were very privilege in being in such a great isolated and beautiful location.
